Perhaps I should start at the beginning. My name is David. I moved to Brooklyn from New Orleans because I wanted to act both professionally and prolifically . I was doing some things at home, a bit of community theater, the occasional commercial or the random stand up comedy routine yet at the end of the night I had an angst. I wanted more than a civil service career - I wanted to act so I packed up my underwear and moved to Brooklyn, New York.
Funny thing though. After being in the city a while it occurred to me that I got more acting gigs in New Orleans. All of this theater and commercial and film work is happening in the Big Apple and I do not , apparently, resemble any of the characters. I believe I have been afraid. I focused on the cost of living in New York which is some scary shit.
Now it seems so simple - giving into fear is the most direct road to....... failure. So instead of giving in, I am taking action. In the twelve months from June24Th 2011 to June 23rd 2012, I will focus on my acting career. I will be putting energy into getting auditions and developing my acting skills - everyday - for the next twelve months.
I will start at the beginning which is writing a business plan.

ReplyDeleteThe timing seems crazy. In the aftermath of Katrina, so many movies and plays have descended upon the Crescent City. However, the flesh can only interpret what the eyes see. Rely upon God and work earnestly. Not only will the acting roles come but the plan to do far more than you envision will be revealed to you. Keep working.
